Simple tips for cleaning different material covers.
You can listen to this article. If that's more convenient for you, include a podcast:
Frameless armchairs require regular maintenance, just like regular upholstered furniture. The frequency of cleaning depends on several factors: how often you use these furnishings, whether there are children and pets in the house. But there are also two general rules:
- Try to remove stains as soon as possible to prevent them from digging into the fabric.
- Use a microfiber cloth or vacuum cleaner to remove dust from the cover once a week.
The filling in bean bags is usually expanded polystyrene. This substance is hypoallergenic, does not collect moisture and dust, so you do not need to do anything with it. You can add the filler if it is out of order and the chair "sat down" from frequent use. Just for such cases, expanded polystyrene is sold separately.

How to clean a beanbag chair with a removable cover
- Remove the outer cover and check the integrity of the inner one. Do this carefully, otherwise, the filler may scatter throughout the room. If you notice a hole in the inner cover, immediately place the chair in a trash bag. This will ensure that the granules remain in one place. Fold them back inside and sew up the hole.
- Apply an enzyme stain remover or a drop of a powerful detergent to the stains on the case. Lightly rub the dirty area with your fingers or a soft-bristled brush so that the composition is absorbed into the fabric, then let it "work" for 15 minutes.
- Wash the cover at the temperature indicated on the label. If you cut it off after purchase, choose a delicate wash at 30 degrees. Then air-dry them cover and assemble the chair.
How to clean a bean bag chair with a leather cover
Leather goods cannot be washed, so you will have to use a different method. It is suitable for both natural and artificial leather.
- Make a soapy solution by adding a little leather detergent to warm water. If not, you can use a mild liquid soap.
- Soak a microfiber cloth in this composition, squeeze out excess water and wipe the cover. Start at the top and work your way down gradually, periodically dipping the rag into the solution again. Then walk over the same areas with a clean, damp cloth.
- Dry with a clean cloth and apply a leather conditioner. This will protect the chair and help your skin stay soft for longer.

How to clean a bean bag chair with a faux fur cover
Most likely, such a cover will be removable and you can wash it. Just keep in mind a couple of points:
- Use a delicate wash and spin cycle to prevent the fur from tangling too much.
- Allow the cover to air dry. Do not try to speed up the process with a hairdryer, as this may melt the fur.
If the fibers do get tangled during the wash process, you can remedy the situation with a wide-toothed comb and hair conditioner. Mix a teaspoon of the latter with two glasses of warm water and pour into a spray bottle. Spray the mixture over the matted fur and gently brush over it with a comb. Then wipe the area with a clean, damp cloth and let the cover dry again.

How to clean a suede beanbag chair
If the material is artificial: microfiber, velour, velveteen - the cover can simply be washed. But just in case, check the directions on your seat tag.
Natural suede does not tolerate washing, so the rules for caring for it are slightly different:
- Vacuum the cover or brush it thoroughly with a soft-bristled brush.
- Get the spots out. If the stain is greasy, sprinkle it with starch or talcum powder and let it sit for at least four hours to absorb the grease into the powder. Then vacuum the area of contamination and repeat the procedure if necessary. If you spill something on the cover, blot the area with a clean white rag. After the suede is dry, brush over it to restore the look of the pile.
